Ear Check #1
The ear looked clean. The canal wasn't.
Earwax forms in the outer canal and is meant to work its way out on its own. Pushed deeper, it packs into a plug well past the point you can see.
Does one ear feel fuller than the other?

The swab left the entrance clean. This was further in.
A cotton swab rarely takes wax out. It mostly pushes it further in, and the entrance looks clean afterwards, which is exactly why it feels like it worked.
Swab after every shower, yes or no?

Fine this morning. Blocked after a shower.
Nothing new arrived. Earwax absorbs water, and a plug that was leaving a narrow gap swells until the gap closes. Once it dries, hearing often returns on its own.

Should I clean my ears at all?
Most ears clean themselves. Wipe the outer ear; don't put anything into the canal. If one ear feels blocked for more than a few days, or you have pain, see a professional.
When should I see a professional?
If an ear hurts, leaks, stays blocked for more than a few days, or your hearing drops suddenly. A check by a professional takes minutes, and none of our tools replace it.
